Introduction to Ashtanga Yoga (9 February 2025)
In this workshop we will lay the fundamentals of an Ashtanga Yoga Practice. The goal of this session will be to review a portion of the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga, helping students gain confidence to join Ashtanga yoga classes, to establish their self-practice, and learn how to safely execute the series in a group setting. We will be covering a bit of theory and a lot of technique, including jumping back and through, correct alignment, breath in ashtanga yoga, bandhas and more. After the workshop, students should feel empowered to join a Mysore setting, to start practicing independently at home, or to attend an Ashtanga Open class in studio.
